  • LABview: Department of EE, RCCIIT has setup a modern Real time Experimental Research Laboratories for promoting research and development activities in joint collaboration with National Instrument, USA for the faculty members, research scholar and students. This state-of-the-art research laboratory consists of hardware equipment of CRIO-9075 Integrated Controller and chassis system, 400 MHz Power PC controllers, LX 25 Gate FPGA, 4 slots and Software Radio Education Lab station (Two NI USRP-2920 bundles with Lab. materials) and 5 user license LabVIEW ver. 5 software with 10 Toolboxes.
  • dsSpace (ver.5.6), Model-ACE 1104 and MicrolabBOX:
The Dspace Hardware/Software bundle is a real time simulation engine, which takes input from MATLAB Simulinkmodel with various input parameters and control variable and produces output signal in real time corresponding to the Input/Outputs and control logic. It is a tool for quick testing of any prototype model. Dspace Hardware /Software need a Host PC from which it takes the MATLABSimulinkModel and the runs the program.
  • Wind Solar PV Hybrid Power System:
The department has setup a Wind Solar PV Hybrid Power System. The System consists of One Horizontal Axis 3.8 KW @ 48V; Wind Turbine coupled Induction Generator, 4 KW (500W x 8) Solar Panels @ 48V. The Co-generated Energy is converted to DC and combined in a DC Bus which in Turns Run a Grid Tied true Sine-wave Inverter and excess energy after catering the Load of Two Labs in the department, EE is used to charge the Storage Battery rated at 48 Volt @ 400 AH. The system is also fitted with a dedicated Data logger with a GPS Synchronized clock for necessary time stamping and storing data of the PV as well as Wind Generation, Battery Voltage, Charging current, Discharge current, Connected Load Power etc. These Data may be utilized find out various inference and system behavior throughout the year.
  • ETAP (ver. 16.0.0): Stand alone and 5-user license:
A Model-Driven Power System Design, Operation and Simulation Software setup, ETAP-ver. 16.0.0, Stand alone (Research ver.) and 5-user (Student ver.) License has been established in the year 2016. This Software expands on immersive systems modeling and comprehensive simulation capabilities. The present license version can simulate up to 100 Bus Projects. Following simulation "Toolboxes" are equipped with this setup; Load flow/Short circuit/Transient stability/Protective device coordination & Sequence of operation/Harmonic analysis/ optimal power flow / User defined dynamic model/Wind-Turbine and Generator and PV array/ unbalanced load flow.
  • NEPLAN (35 user Licensed):
NEPLAN is a software tool to analyze, plan, optimize and simulate electrical, water, gas and district heating networks. The most user-friendly graphical user interface allows the user to perform study cases very efficiently. The customizable software has a modular concept and covers all electrical aspects in transmission, distribution, generation / industrial networks. It suits best for Renewable energy system and Smart Grid application.
  • Siemens PLC with SCADA (SIMATIC: SINAMICS V20 Inverter):
The department has a PC based PLC and SCADA system. The students can configure and upload user defined ladder logic & diagram in PLC for real time application. In SCADA system it is possible to configure closed-loop control system with specific Analog & Digital input/output assignment for any process measurement and control. SINAMICS V20 has a compact inverter design, and can be individually adapted to the particular application or user requirements using various options (for example, an external BOP, sensors, transmitter, connecting cable, filter, resistors,…….). The compact inverter is suitable for industrial applications also, such as pumps, fans, compressors and conveyor systems.
