The Computer Science and Engineering (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) department at RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) was introduced in the academic year 2023-2024 with an intake capacity of 60 students.
The department is supported by a robust team of expert faculty members who have proven track records in both academics and research in the fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning. This new program aims to provide students with a strong foundation in AI and ML, preparing them to meet the growing demands of these rapidly evolving fields.
To become a leading center of excellence in India that will foster AI empowered solutions to social and real life problems and contribute through state of the art research and innovation with effective industry collaborations.
To groom the students to: M1.Be able to apply and evaluate in-depth knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning for different classical problems M2.Be able to solve industry standard real-world challenges and design solutions with the help of artificial intelligence and machine learning. M3.Be confident on skills and show appropriate attitude to innovate new ideas and explore new opportunities through application of artificial intelligence and machine learning.
RCC Institute of Information Technology (RCCIIT) was set up in 1999 by the erstwhile Regional Computer Centre (RCC), Calcutta (in JU) as a unique joint venture of NIC, Ministry of Communication & IT, Govt. of India and Dept. of Higher Education, Govt. of West Bengal. In 2003 the lead role of management of RCCIIT was transferred to the State Govt. from Govt. of India.
